Everything I read in January 2020

I started 2020 off with a new goal of reading more. Which is such a vague goal, but I am so proud of myself this month! I was able to read 4 books! Things that helped: my Kindle and the Libby app. Game changers. I was able to virtually “check out” books from the library and get them directly on my Kindle. While I totally prefer to read actual books, I feel like I have spent so much money on them and also because I feel like go to the library is such a hassle - whoops!

I’m going to try and do a book round up post at the beginning of each month from what I read the month prior and hopefully have a pretty good list by the end of the year!

What are you reading? Anything I should add to my list? Let me know below!

A Cute Beach Read

The UnHoneymooners By Christina Lauren

While I definitely did not read this book by the pool or beach, it was the perfect light read to start off the New Year. It was cute and an easy read. I will admit that I didn’t actually read this one, I listened to it on audio book and I think that was the reason I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. I honestly couldn’t stand the tone of the voices, but that was just me. I think if I would have read it, it would have been a completely different story! Still super cute and I would recommend it if you’re looking for something breeze through and just enjoyment.

This one made me cry

Evvie Drake Starts Over By Linda Holmes

Man this one was so, so good! Like maybe one of the best ones I’ve read in a while. It was super cute but also made me feel very deeply. There were aspects to this that I wasn’t expecting and I think that was one of my favorite parts. It dealt with loss, love and starting over. I read this in one day and cried when it was over, so sweet!

Waiting for Tom Hanks By Kerry Winfrey

This was a super quick read, but honestly wasn’t my favorite. And it wasn’t that great. I found the main character to be super whiny and hard to empathize with. I think she eventually grew on me, but she wasn’t a very complex character. I think the title of this book pretty much tells you that it’s going to be chick lit but it wasn’t really even good. It was easy to read and entertaining but not much past that. Probably won’t reread this one.

Major Station 19 vibes

Things You save in a fire By Katherine

This book was recommended based on my other reading choices and it did not disappoint! It was a sweet read, but also an emotional one as well. It was an easy read and was a great way to round out my January reading list!
